Robert ("Bob") Swiss is underwriting counsel for First American. Prior to joining First American, Bob was in private practice litigating, title claims, foreclosure actions, defending actions against title companies and banks, and has participated in many other types of actions. He has represented a diverse group of clientele, from the Nation’s largest banks to an 85 year old individual wrongfully foreclosed upon. He has presented arguments before District and Circuit Courts across Kansas and Missouri, and both the Missouri Court of Appeals and the Kansas Court of Appeals. Bob is a former Law Clerk to the Hon. Justine E. Del Muro of the Jackson County, Missouri, Circuit Court and former Law Clerk to the Hon. Scott O. Wright of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri. While in law school, Bob served as Note and Comment Editor of his school’s Law Review. He is admitted to the Missouri Bar and Kansas Bar and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court of Missouri, Western District, the U.S. District Court of Kansas, the Missouri Court of Appeals and the Kansas Court of Appeals. Bob is married to his wife Cathie and they have two young children, a boy and a girl. Bob and his family reside in the Kansas City area.
